As you may have experienced, there is often difficulty in communication between parents and teachers at international schools. This is expected since there may be a language barrier between the families and the teaching staff. While this barrier can be frustrating, it is also a critical weakness in your child’s education. Communicating your concerns to teachers and understanding their advice can be incredibly difficult. While simple issues may be understood, complex issues may not. Vital information could be lost which could have an negative impact on your child’s future. Precious time may be wasted if your child is struggling. The opportunity to fix difficulties could be lost and your child could slip behind their classmates. Having a professional advocate that communicates directly with your child’s school will ensure that no details will be missed. It also allows us to build a special program to address any difficulties your child may be having as soon as possible!
For a monthly fee, we provide the following: We will be a direct point of contact for all academic matters that you wish. (Agreement will be needed with the school) We will translate and provide a detailed report of what the teachers communicate, as well as any responses or comments we made in return. If requested by you, we will develop an academic action plan to address concerns from teachers and provide private lessons for your child at an additional cost. Once per term or semester, we will participate in parent-teacher meetings to discuss your child’s progress. This can be done with parents or we can attend on your behalf. There is no extra charge for online parent-teacher meetings, however there will be a nominal travel charge for optional in-person meetings at the school.
